Day One – The Heart of Scotland

Pick Up – Stirling Castle – Cromlix

Upon arrival at Edinburgh airport, you will be met by your Luxury Scotland Tours chauffeur. Greeted with a friendly smile, your bags will be taken care of and your Scottish adventure is underway.

You will depart the Scottish capital, routing north until you reach Stirlingshire. You will pass through the quaint town of Bridge of Allan before arriving in the the historic town of Stirling. Passing by the Wallace Monument which eloquently operates the Stirling skyline and celebrates the legacy of Sir William Wallace, a famous Scottish patriot and martyr.

Visit: Stirling Castle

Your private driver will then take you up the ancient cobbled roads to Stirling Castle, which is one of the biggest fortresses in Scotland and holds great historical importance. It was the residence of the revered Stewart family. As you tour round, you will be brought back in time to 16th century life, meeting costumed characters ranging from maids to armoured knights.

Day Two – A Taste Discovery

Visit: The Highland Chocolatier

Your driver will then take you north to the charming town of Pitlochry. You will stop off at Iain Burnett Highland Chocolatier, one of the world’s leading chocolate artisans who is renowned for his handcrafted truffles. Tour the chocolate shop, enjoy mouth-watering chocolates, and learn all about the history of chocolate.

Visit: Dalwhinnie Distillery

After tasting the most tantalising chocolate in Scotland, you will continue north through the awe-inspiring Cairngorm National Park. Make sure to have your camera at the ready, the lush Scottish scenery makes for a great photo opportunity. You will stop at Dalwhinnie Distillery, which is perfectly set in the heart of the Cairngorms. Known the world over for making one of the finest single malts, Dalwhinnie Distillery is surrounded by peaty bogs and spring water, making it the perfect environment for making whisky. You will tour round the distillery and an experienced guide will explain the whisky distilling process. At the end of the tour, you will be treated to a whisky and chocolate tasting. Remember you can never have too much chocolate!

Stay & Dine: Rocpool Reserve Hotel

The next stop is Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Your private driver will drop you off at the Rocpool Reserve Hotel. Day Three – The Historic Highlands 

Pick Up – Cawdor Castle – Culloden Battlefield
Glen Ord Distillery – Inverness

Make sure to have a hearty breakfast, as you have an exciting day of touring ahead.

Visit: Cawdor Castle

Leaving Inverness, you will venture east until you reach Cawdor Castle. The castle is famed for literary ties to Shakespeare’s Macbeth. You will tour the castle, which has stunning drawing rooms, a tapestry bedroom, and an array of ancient antiques. The castles gardens are equally as splendid as the interior and there is even a nine-hole golf course.

Visit: Culloden Battlefield

From Cawdor Castle, you will make the short journey to Culloden Battlefield, the venue for the final Jacobite Rising. This brutal battle signalled the end of an era as Jacobite supporters tried to rise up against the Duke of Cumberland’s army. The harrowing battle cost 1500 lives’, over 1000 of them Jacobite’s. You will explore the interactive visitor centre and relive the battle in the cinema.

Visit: Glen Ord Distillery

From Culloden Battlefield, your private driver will drive north over the Moray Firth to Glen Ord Distillery. The distillery is set on the idyllic Muir of Ord and produces an exquisite single malt. You will be met by a friendly tour guide and shown the unique whisky distilling process at Glen Ord Distillery. After the tour, you will be treated to a few complimentary drams.

This evening you will return to Inverness and spend another night in your sumptuous 5 star accommodation, the Rocpool Reserve Hotel.

Day Four – Iconic Highland Beauty 

Pick Up – Loch Ness – Glenfinnan – Fort William

After breakfast, your chauffeur will be waiting and you will bid farewell to Inverness.

Visit: Loch Ness (Private Boat Tour)

You will head south, weaving along the famous banks of Loch Ness. Take in the glistening water, dramatic highland scenery, and the mythical aura that surrounds Loch Ness. You will stop at the small town of Drumnadrochit, where you will embark on a cruise of the loch. Your skipper, Gordon, will be on hand to tell you all about this legendary loch. Keep your camera handy, you might catch a glimpse of “Nessie”, the Loch Ness monster!

Visit: Glenfinnan

After touring Loch Ness, you will travel west until you reach Glenfinnan Viaduct. This is one of the most popular stops amongst Harry Potter fans. The viaduct famously featured in the second and third Harry Potter films, with the Hogwarts Express hurtling across the viaduct. If you arrive at the right time you might catch the Jacobite steam train that travels from Fort William to Mallaig.

You will then make the short trip to Glenfinnan Monument. Built in 1815, this iconic monument honours the memory of Jacobite soldiers and commands breath-taking views of Loch Shiel.

You will route through the scenic Glencoe valley. Carved by Mother Nature, Glencoe Valley is the perfect photo opportunity for the keen photographer.

You will then weave down the stunning west coast, where you can take in awe-inspiring coastal views. You will arrive at the quaint town of Oban, where you can wander around the bay, have a spot of lunch, or walk up McCaig Tower. McCaig Tower sits high above the town centre and has spectacular views of the Atlantic Ocean.

A Seafari Adventure

After exploring Oban, you will be taken on a Seafari Adventure where you will take in a 2-hour Wildlife Tour. You will see the world’s third largest whirlpool, marine wildlife, and breath-taking views of the west coast.

Day Six – Coast to Coast

After breakfast, you will bid farewell to the Isle of Eriska hotel and route east.

Visit: Loch Lomond

You will reach Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park. Your private driver will take you around the loch where you can enjoy crystal clear waters and lush scenery. This area is a photographer’s heaven, so make sure to have your camera at the ready!

Visit: Linlithgow Palace

You will continue to route east until you reach West Lothian. You will stop off at the small town of Linlithgow where you will tour the famous Linlithgow Palace. Sitting proudly above Linlithgow Loch, the palace was a Stewart Family stronghold and Mary Queen of Scots was born here. This will be a very exciting visit for the history buffs. If you are an Outlander fan, you might recognise the palace from the scene where Jamie was imprisoned.

Visit: Blackness Castle

You will then make the short journey to Blackness Castle. Built in the 15th century, Blackness Castle has had many uses over the years, including a royal home, a prison, and even a filming location for Hamlet and Outlander. Visit: Edinburgh Castle

No visit to Edinburgh is complete without visiting the legendary Edinburgh Castle. Parts of the castle date back to the 12th century and you will tour round the great hall, St Margaret’s Chapel, see the one o’clock gun, the honours of Scotland, and the stone of destiny.

Visit: Royal Mile

This quirky street is laden with Scottish culture.
We recommend visiting the tartan shops and dipping into one of the traditional Scottish pubs for a quick refreshment.
You will see many great sights that are worth visiting along the Royal Mile, from Mary King’s Close to St Giles Cathedral there is a lot to see.

Visit: Holyrood Palace

This magnificent palace is the Queen’s official residence in Scotland. You will see the 12th-century Holyrood Abbey, 14 state apartments and the beautifully kept Holyrood Gardens.

If time permits, you can visit the new town and buy some souvenirs. Take a stroll down George Street and explore its worthy reputation for high end shopping.
