Luxury Golf Tours

Scotland is a golfing treasure trove and St Andrews is of course the “home of golf”. Nowhere in the world does links golf quite like Scotland. Scotland has fantastic courses throughout the country but Scotland’s best golfing regions are

St Andrews  –  East Lothian  –  Ayrshire  –  North East  –  Highlands

Often our tours blend a mixture of these regions, alternatively you may want to experience one or a couple of these regions in depth. At Luxury Scotland Tours we are keen golfers and have played and stayed at all the golf courses we recommend in our itineraries. You will experience golf in its purest form, while enjoying a luxurious chauffeur service and 5 star accommodation. If necessary we can organise club hire and caddies.

Luxury Golf Tours St Andrews

No trip to Scotland is complete without a trip the “auld grey toon” of St Andrews. The Old Course is the star attraction but it can be hard to acquire guaranteed tee times. If the demand is to great and we can’t guarantee Old Course tee times, we can enter you into the ballot. The ballot is lottery system and you don’t find out if you are successful until the morning. The Old Course is over 4 centuries old and is laden in golfing history. The legendary Old Tom Morris designed the “Old Course” in alignment with mother nature’s natural touch. From the iconic Swilcan Bridge to the famous 17th Road Hole, playing the Old Course is a once in a lifetime experience and our team will do their utmost to make sure you experience it. St Andrews and Fife is much more than just the Old Course, with over 40 golf courses in the region, there is an array of fantastic links courses to choose from. Outside of the Old Course we highly recommend the Castle Course, Kingsbarns and the New Course.

The Castle Course opened in 2008 is described by many as a modern links classic. The course is perched above the “Auld Grey Toon” and has breath-taking views of west sands beach and the ocean. The course is very challenging with undulating fairways and raised dunes. The clubhouse is shaped liked a flying saucer and offers panoramic views and great dining options after a long day on the links.

Kingsbarns opened in 2000 and co-hosts the Alfred Dunhill, a flagship European Tour event. The course is regarded as one of the top ten courses in Scotland with rippling fairways, undulating greens and panoramic views over the north sea.

The New Course opened in 1895 and is favoured by many of the locals due to the tight fairways and more “ normal” feel. Many believe if the New Courses was placed elsewhere in the country, away from the shadow of the Old Course, it would be an Open Championship venue.

Luxury Golf Tours East Lothian

East Lothian has been appropriately named “Scotland’s Golfing Coast” and this beautiful coastline is home to 22 fantastic courses. The standout courses has to be open venue Muirfield and Scottish open venue Gullane, both these traditional links courses provide a stiff test for even the most seasoned of golfers. The rugged and chiselled coastline has been perfectly sculpted by mother nature for links golf, with natural dunes, a stiff coastal breeze that dries the hard links turf and panoramic views out to Bass Rock and the Firth Of Forth.
